" Twelve! " cried a shrewd politician Shakuni.

" Aha, Draupadi is ours," Shakuni said in triumph.

Now , the mighty Pandavas and'  Draupadi ' are slaves . Slaves are assigned below Sutas and Nishads , explained Guru Dhauyma.

" Bring out the woman just now in court . Let us all see what our slave look like" Karna ( powerful king of vassal state ) advised.

Draupadi forget to breathe when she heard heavy foot steps approaching her. She desperately clutched her single sari that women don during menstruation.

Spokes person of Kuru clan prince Sushasana with a lopsided grin on his face tried to outrage her modesty.

' Why he is doing to me ? Where are my superiors ( husbands) ? ' Franatic thoughts flooded Draupadi  mind.

Women and men of royal household watched the brutish display in wide- eyed horror.

Sushanna pulled Draupadi forward by one arm . Trembling with anger and fear , she clutched at the flimsy sari covering her breast.

" This is ignoble! This is no way to treat a noble woman!

The lone voice of upright prince Vikarana was silenced in no time by Suyodhna and Karna.

Draupadi looked up at Suyodhna and asked in bewilderment,  her throat burning,  " Prince , why are you doing this ? "

Suyodhna,  an acting powerful Home Minister in Kuru Sabha slapped his thigh,  " come , and sit here , otherwise u ll be stripped naked in front of entire Sabha. "

" Arjuna , do you not hear these taunts ? All five of her warrior husbands ( superiors) remained silent.  " Are you Kshatriyas ? Are you even men ? " Draupadi chest heaved in agitation as laughter resounded round the Sabha.

" Draupadi,  be patient,  They are consulting laws , " Jayadrath ,an other powerful chieftain of Sindh commented amidst roar of laughter.

" Pitamaha.... " Draupadi s lips trembled as she turned her gaze on Chief justice of India.

Bhishma sat rigid , his gaze fixed on an invisible spot on the ceiling.

Draupadi turned towards the Blind king , her hands joined in supplication,  " I am just like your daughter "

Dhritrashtra in low whisper,  " Sanjay , where is Gandhari "

" Acharya Drona..." Draupadi pleaded , turning to the burly Police chief of India. Drona looked here and there in embarrassment.

" Guru Dhauyma... " Draupadi  cried .

Guru ( Opposition head ) just vanished from the scene.

" Acharya Kripa ? "Draupadi asked in anticipation that maverick will do something to save her.

" Daughter,  you ask your husband why he gambled you " ( an other powerful voice in Kuru sabha ) Kripa answered curtly.

Draupadi shrieked and turned to run but Sushasana quickly grabbed her.

' KRISHNA...KRISHNA where are you ! Where are you ? were the last words spoken by that innocent soul before she fell unconscious.

This heart wrenching saga of Mahabharata had catapulted the history of this planet once for all. Plight of helpless woman was so horrible , that , even today we get scared to the core by just imagining that episode.

Dear friends.... it's not an amusing story , but with a heavy heart , and utterly painful feelings I have to pen down the plight of our beloved ' Medical profession and professional '

Today , not only in Courts of Delhi but all over India , in front of  Me Lords , Police chiefs , Collectors , Political leadership,  opposition leaders , scholarly advisers   big media houses , .... this great profession just like Draupadi is paraded naked every day.

Drink with soma and lust , pitiful appeals of doctors and loud scornful laughter of administration echoes down the stairway.

Doctors very easily could sense the hidden jealousy,  weiled threads hurled at them every now and then by their own superiors sitting in cosy chambers of powers .

Local petty chieftains , a small time shrewd politician,  a tenth fail media spokesman are always out there to malign the modesty of our great profession,  at every given opportunity.

I shudder , with goose bumps , that in that cursed court of Hastinapur  , at least , there was one brave soul by the name of Vikarana who stood all alone before the empire  ,though successful,  before Lord Krishna appeared.

We as a noble professionals don't have any Vikara on our side , our superiors are already proved as mute spectators.

Time has come for us to say good bye and proceed towards  exile  like Draupadi and her husbands went.

All of us pray in all our humbleness in front of Lord Krishna.. oh lord, enough is enough   , save us from the shrewdness and barbaric behavior of Melchas   otherwise,  we all , along with this profession,  will go down the lines permanently in the annals of history.

Thanks
